Really glad I didn’t. The narrator was not great. Actually I sampled the book first and almost decided against getting it too. I swear she has a lisp. She’s also slow. There are times when it sounds like a totally different narrator edited in. There are a few times where she uses a voice for the wrong person. There are words she pronounces incorrectly or misreads. I had to chase a few context clues. I can hear her take her breaths and I can feel her reading. Like it takes me out of the story. There was one time when she repeated a section. Like she was trying to do a Re take and no one edited it out. I heard someone’s iPhone go off in the background and I thought it was mine but… it wasn’t bc I was listening to the story lol. So ya… not a fan of the narrator.
However…. The content of the sample I heard had me wanting more. It was intriguing. I like how complex the story line is.you can feel spin off stories woven in. I like the heroine and how she doesn’t take anyone’s crap. I like how the love story took so long to develop and they knew each other a lot better by the time it comes to fruition. Funny thing is… if I were to say that I’m another book review it would be a spoiler bc you already know who the love interest is. This had me guessing through the bulk of the books.
I really liked it and I think I’ll get the 5th one too.
