the narrator was incredible, definitely carried a lot of the book for me. Overall it’s what you’d expect, extremely powerful main character eats his way through all his problems. the side characters were somewhat interesting but every single character is just used as a metric for how impressive and strong torga is. a few neat scenes but also some cringey sex dialogue and questionable inclusions of certain conversations (did we really need a scene where the 13yr old has to be told she can’t date/marry the hundred+ year old snake)
I’m a snake furry and probably the absolute target demographic for this type of guilty pleasure reading but I had to stop a few times due to just being taken out of the immersion by how campy/inconsistent it was.
not a bad book I don’t regret reading it but I think with a little more effort into the enemies/encounters torga could have been a much better character.
