I thoroughly enjoyed the studies and the comparisons. Even contrasting animals to people and people to animals really helped me to understand the topic better.
If I were to take away one thing from this book it would be that even we do not understand all of our own motives. Our subconscious mind hides our deep down motives to protect us from judgment. Think about it like this; have you ever been asked why you did something and you weren’t clearly able to articulate it? It’s probably happened to all of us.
The biggest point would be to take a step back when we’ve made decisions and try to look at the hidden motives behind those decisions. Whether it’s about ourselves or the other people around us. This will in the end, help us to understand ourselves and other people better.
