Starts off slow and gets into some character development. Dale is the owner of a home and has a large well on his land. When everything falls apart the only commodity everyone needs of course is water. People have a tendency to try and take what they want. Took me awhile to figure out why he was so determined not to share then the story starts to unfold. Cant say that I am fond of the lead character because I felt his motives were a little suspect Action doesn’t really start until the end of the book and then it’s slam packed. Had it been more exciting in the beginning I would have liked it a lot better. “War” breaks out at the end and there is a cliff hangar with no place to go. Second book isn’t out yet which is a shame. I stop listening to authors that do not have the next book in the series available, as I find that in the meantime I am forced to find something else. Then when the next book does become available I am not convinced I want to spend the credit.
For this one – I will check back from time to time but I will not be disappointed if I don’t see Book 2.
