The first two books felt as a good introduction to the world building and main characters. Not perfect but enjoyable. This third book was the final straw in my interest in finishing the series. The main issue is the lack of conflict/struggle or that the main character is perfect at everything he touches, without flaw. I don’t know why it took 3 books to come to that realization but after watching him flawlessly master more and more jobs/tasks it becomes nauseating. Can he even be allowed to get a 98% on a test? Nope. The test will be wrong and the authorities will insure he gets the full 100% and the test answer will be updated accordingly. Come on!

It’s seriously tiring having a character conquer effortlessly everything including a chuck of the women he encounters. Not even a hint of disinterest is offered by a single woman in his sights. The occasional reminder of his age being a mere 18 years old just makes me roll my eyes more. None of this characters expertise comes from years of experiences, he just solves every problem in short order even with the “experts” are left scratching their heads…..again. My one and only complaint about the narrator is his deep and gruff voice makes you forget this is some young kid who you are following and not some seasoned veteran with years behind him.

Just rename the series “A Trader’s Tale from the Golden Child” and it would be a better descriptor for the story. I’m not risking another purchase of this series.
