I didn’t know what to expect from this one. I’m a fan of Dakota Krout and his Divine Dungeon universe, but I hadn’t heard of this Vanderkerken fellow. Still, I liked the main character when he was in the other books, so I gave it a shot.

I can’t express how much I enjoyed this audiobook. I knew this was going to be a good one by the end of the second chapter, but even then I didn’t expect this level of entertainment.

Never have I known a more likeable protagonist than Artorian. He’s basically the favorite grandfather that you never knew you had. If I had to choose whether to save him or Baby Yoda, I would probably cry because I would expect that Artorian would want me to pick Baby Yoda. But I would be wrong, because Artorian doesn’t want me to choose a specific option. He wants me to make the choice that I want to make, and if I’m happy, then he’s happy. And while that wouldn’t help me make the call, it would bolster my self-confidence in most other situations.

I can’t wait to continue Artorian’s adventures in the next book. This was truly a great experience, and I feel better than I would after reading some self-help book about unleashing your potential through meditation and business savvy. So don’t waste your credit on some egomaniac’s buzz word monologue; buy this book!

Oh, and the narrator was good, too.
