When Aunt Pearl invites a few extras to Christmas Eve dinner and the weather turns nasty, eggnog and a killer Christmas cake aren’t the only perils to be dealt with in this holiday cozy mystery by Colleen Cross.
I love the Westwick witches – Sandrine the reporter, sometimes sleuth and reluctant witch trainee, zany Aunt Pearl and the rest of the family and they all feature prominently in this holiday story as do Sandrine’s former fiancee, current hunky sheriff beau and a few new characters who are just as captivating. Add a holiday setting complete with Christmas trees and snow globes and you’ve got a story that’s perfect for a December afternoon or any time you’re looking for a well spun murder mystery that’s not too dark.
