This was phenomenal, and I am thoroughly glad I stuck with the series.

The story is a little light on plot, but builds firmly on the metaplot and outdoes itself with characterization. Again, the worldbuilding is solid here, and the reveals feel like payoffs this time instead of out-of-the-blue twists. The characters get a bit more time to stretch and breathe, and the dual narration style gives hilarious perspective. The dialogue is *chef’s kiss*. The speech is witty and crackles, and Joel’s performance just takes it to the next level. The banter between the main love interests made me lament there was only an hour and a half left.

I am definitely looking forward to the next installment.
