Kevin Pierce is among my absolute top 5 narrators ever. At this point I’ve listened to enough audiobooks to have a top 5 which includes male and female readers. Loving action, adventure and romance that clearly shows respect between the partners, along with strong characters you care enough about to love or hate…hit the jackpot with this one!! The sea going nature in an apocalyptic story is totally new to me, but very effective. The world building is exquisite! Between government, FEMA, mercenaries, forts, prisons, military style action, ships at sea or anchored and the ingenuity of the characters in extreme situations “all” was realistically portrayed with good and bad on each side and with a true melting pot of races that is the USA. Even the epilogue was very complete and well done. Will definitely be reading more from this author! Enjoyed it!
