I enjoyed the story of a hardscrabble Bow Street runner who becomes infatuated with a lady far above his station, who is implicated in her husband’s murder. Lots of twists. The setting seemed spot on for the period. I’ll listen to more in the hope that John Pickett finds his way in a society that scorns him.
