The author runs down key principles in our modern abbreviated way,as well as provides enough context to prevent absolute hubris lol.
Since Game of Thrones I’ve been fascinated with this big part of our largely ignored human history. So I have brought to the book a little of the history I’ve studied and will say it helped me bring context and a deeper appreciation for what he’s done.
The book helped me most as a way to jump into action with little trepidation and more confidence.
