It’s great book if you want to laugh and listen to stupid antics. I mean that in a good way. I absolutely adored Everybody Loves A Large Chests for the character Boxxy. This book carries on with a similar style of mimic intelligence. The narrator is insanely good at just making you laugh with the ridiculous things to the chest will say.
it’s of course good start out with the ridiculously underpowered MC. That’s every LitRPG.
I felt I need add, the MC is legitimately naive. You can expect him to have some angst in this book. He is coming to terms with what he has to do. I have noticed some review saying that makes him evil. I do not recall him doing anything directly evil. He lives in a morally gray world, not a black and white one. By the logic of some of the other reviewers, every adventurer is always evil because the monsters in this book are more like animals that are overly intelligent that are really actually just trying to eat and survive. He’s not badass, He’s probably going to be badass eventually but not yet. It is a bit of a tired trope for main characters to be instantly badass. I kind of like the main character being semi naive and having to work to keep up the learning curve. Also, I’ve noticed some people complaining that he’s not relying on his own strength. This is untrue because the combination of mimic and main character is not a pairing that can be undone. They are literally one creature at this point due to the weird way they are joined.
Anyway, it’s just fun. Give it a shot
