Simply put: I love this book!
I was procrastinating listening to this one, and how wrong I was for doing so. I was in giggling like a loon and that was just with a few chapters in.
Henry’s snark, one-liners and sass is spectacular! He is hilarious. But also, he is very real, very vulnerable. His character speaks to me in a lot of ways. Maybe that’s why I fell in love with the story, it was like a retelling of my own, but with more colorful characters. We’ve all been there, where our confidence has been shaken, our self-worth has been questioned and we didn’t dare to think we deserve more. How he used snark and sense of humor as an armor, Henry’s discovery of self love and taking control of his life again made it easy for me to relate.
And Reed? *sigh* Don’t we all wish to have somebody like him in our life?
This story is sweet, hilarious, but also full of heart, self-discovery, perseverance, yummy good food, Harry Potter, LOTR and Disney references. I would recommend it to everybody!
Joel Leslie — an excellent performer, story teller, narrator, as we all know. I don’t think anybody could have been more perfect to voice Henry.
Another excellent story brought to us by NR Walker.
