I couldn’t do it. These are some of the most helpless, clueless characters I’ve ever encountered. Pepper is committing constant officer safety violations, and of course it goes bad for her. She had a K9 assignment, which means she’s supposed to be an experienced officer, but makes bumbling mistakes. Her sister is far worse. She and her accompanying character make mistake after mistake, just zero common sense. Normal people have common sense, and do things to affect their survival, not make it harder.
This book reads like a bad horror movie, where you’re screaming at the characters from your couch to not do whatever stupid thing they are doing that gets them killed. It’s B rated horror and it’s incredibly frustrating to listen to.
And Bo, don’t get me started on Bo. For gods sakes man, harden up and do what needs doing to keep the people you care about safe.
I admittedly stopped listening about halfway. I can’t take it anymore. If you like bad horror with completely witless and helpless characters, maybe you’ll like this one. It ain’t for me.
