I really enjoy this series. It’s not angsty, the characters are likable and the relationships feel natural. It’s a funny thing to say about a paranormal book but I think that’s what makes them so good. The mysteries and the magic bring the suspense and drama so the relationships don’t have to. There’s a lot of compassion in how the characters are written while they’re making silly snarky comments half the time. I imagine that’s hard to do as a writer.
One accidental LOL moment was when the narrator mispronounced oxytocin “oxytoxin”. Maybe love hormones are toxic sometimes but not in this book 🙂
