And I’m happy that I was. I’m not sure I would have found this book otherwise. It is a great ride.

Roak is a bounty hunter with a unusual AI controlled ship, just trying to make a buck.

Complications seem to find him at every turn, but his singular focus on getting paid, pushes him along. That, and a little luck.

Blackmailed into finding a dead man, Roak takes off to the seedy side of the galaxy to do just that. He has a very casual attitude towards being set up, just taking it stride and demanding a higher price. Then other decide to try and stop him, or find the dead man first and Roak has to race to collect his bounty.

I wish I had read the first book before this one, because there is a character near the end that I assume was in another book. I could be wrong. I guess I’ll find out when I read that one.
