legitimately do not understand the positive reviews at all. did these people read the same book as I did?

protagonist who’s casually down for slavery, doesn’t see or care that he’s reproducing the same abusive system he’s in.

the book comes with content warnings but they do nothing close to covering the actual content warnings you need to know about the book. contains casual slavery, human disposability, female disempowerment and dismemberment, abusive style interpersonal dynamics.

i’m willing to give it another hour to make sure i’m not being premature but so far i couldn’t identify any redeeming features that would justify the positive press. i’m not sure i can support an author that can uncritically produce these worldviews in his work and won’t be getting anything else from him.
