A bit of a disappointment after the first book. The narration by Jeff Hays was fantastic as usual, but the book itself was a bit of a letdown. It very much doesn’t feel like a complete book, but rather half. The first 3/4 of the book is some pretty slow setup, and the last quarter is a hastily assembled cliff-hanger. I can only assume the author was looking for a cash infusion (fair enough!), but it’s just not enough to stand on its own merit. Will be much less of an issue once more books are published, but I’d suggest waiting for now.
