It doI could not like a single one of the main characters, just could not relate to any of them at all. Every time the father opened his mouth I lost more interest. The painting itself was very interesting and creepy, props for that. I got halfway through the book when a character died and my waning interest finally crumbled. I recently had a daughter and I really just had to put the book down.
