This book started interesting. The MC is childish but relatable and over all a good character (even though he isn’t clever at all no matter how many times the writer says he is)
The problem is with the plot. It drives ahead barreling through setup and ruining the pace of the book. Instead of giving the work time to breath, enriching the world building and allowing the reader to get lost in the story, it feels rushed. This is jarring to the point it breaks the suspension of disbelief. Which is unfortunate. I was looking forward to stuff the story setup only for the plot to shove its way in and disregard all the setup done in the early stages of the book. Disappointing…
