I read the blurb and it sounded interesting, I love MCs and angst filled books. Good lord that’s not what this is at all. This is a story of a girl who was ostracized and bullied, then whined about it for 200 pages. It felt like high school kids decided to play cool and make a MC. The characters are immature and act like children, not adults. An MC isn’t getting involved in schoolyard drama.
The whole story is her playing the victim while the men of the MC are constantly grovelling for her forgiveness. I could not roll my eyes hard enough every time one of these oh-so-tough bikers were snivelling because they felt oh so bad. I understand why Ever was hurting but after hearing her complain about it 150 times, I was over it. Then we get Declan’s POV and it’s literally the same damn thing. Constant whining, no action.
Don’t even get me started on the absolute ridiculousness of the whole tattoo thing. Talk about being extra.
There is no romance and no connection between the main characters. There is someone else who would have made a much better hero. The plot really did not work to be set amongst an MC.
The audio version, which is the only reason I didn’t DNF. I enjoyed Sarah Puckett, she brings emotion and makes her characters come to life. I wasn’t in love with DC Cole to be the male voice for this particular book but I do typically enjoy him in general.
