Overall, the plot premise is quite engaging, and there is sustainable suspense in discovering what led to the awakening of the main character and in what he’ll need to do next given the constant peril he is in. The final book is actually a novella that takes place in the past, and enlightens us on the motivations that ultimately drive the entire series.

I want to say that the narration was actually pretty good, except for one critical problem… the male characters’ voices were not well-distinguished. As the story continues on, and more characters are introduced, it readily became annoying to follow along with this narration issue.

There are a few points were I felt that the plot moved too quickly. Or, perhaps I wasn’t paying sufficient attention. I’ll likely need to re-listen to this series again.
