This story is really good and engaging, and what it does with the characters in term of development and arcs in incredibly entertaining. It’s everything you’d want from the third book in this series, expanding the world and characters in interesting and logical ways while creating a good and immersive story. It’s basically perfect…except for the twist at the end. Honestly, Castle, why?? Its so dumb, completely retcons THE ENTIRE BOOK, and ruins ALL of the character development up to this point, and it’s all for a justification that seriously wasn’t even needed!

Still, the rest of the book is great, so if you can ignore the weird out-of-time chapters from Alice, it’s worth the read.
