The first two books in the series were really fun. There was an awkward tension as the writer tried to figure out who the here was. The Librarian started out as an idealistic academic whose knowledge could transform the wasteland.with a standard Mad Mad style action hero rival. This approach was different and kind of fun, but by the end of the first book the author gave up on that approach and made the Librarian a generic “toughest guy around” character. It was all still well done and worth reading until the third book when the author takes a HARD right turn into overt political satire. There are Tucker Carlson documentaries that are more subtle and funnier. As much as I liked the first two, I could not suffer through the last book. Political satire should be thought provoking, revelatory, or at least funny. This book failed on all fronts.
