I really enjoyed listening to this book. It is a bit of a Scrooge story. Eric is a man who’s father dies and and he is left with nothing but an Aston Martin. The catch is that he doesn’t even get to keep that unless he maintains his father’s garden plot for two full years. Being a workaholic with a sense of entitlement Eric is hopeful that he can keep the car while doing minimal work on the garden but his father had accounted for this so Eric is forced to not only get his hands dirty but also interact with other people. The more Eric tries to dodge his responsibilities at the garden the worse his problems get. There is a great cast of supporting characters. Eric’s family, the fellow gardeners and even his coworkers are all quite amusing. I’m excited to see what he gets up to in the next book. This seems like it’s going to be a fun series. The narrator did a wonderful job and helped bring the characters in the story to life.
4 stars.
