Great start to a series. Very entertaining and enjoyable. This is definitley a series worth following.

It’s a well written, creative, original and very engaging story with a great cast of interesting characters. When you have this variety of paranormal creatures including Shifters, Vampires, Ghosts, Demons and Witches you know things are going to get very interesting, complicated and twisted.

It has a great balance between the mystery, action, suspense, humor and steamy romance. At times the story is a bit on the darker side with a bit of torture. It is the first in a series so don’t expect a HEA.

It did take me a while to really be pulled into the story. Although overall it was great to have all the questions answered and the blanks filled in there was too much explanation/detail in the first part of the book for me. At the same time it was nice having the detailed background on the main character as well as the fantastic world building. About Chapter 18 is when I really got pulled into the story. After that I was completely hooked and was irritated anytime I had to pause the book and I couldn’t wait to get back to it. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.

Creative and interesting cast of characters. Really liked that Jan is a strong independent woman. Many female characters start out strong then just shrivel up. That doesn’t happen here. Love that she considers her demon a baby and is trying to teach him a sense of right and wrong. You cant help but fall for Stafford and root for him from the beginning.

Sarah Puckett does a really good job with the narration. She was the perfect narrator for this story. Pleasant voice that is easy to listen to for long periods of time. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Good character voices. She brought the characters, their emotions and the story to life. Hopefully she will be narrating the rest of the series. Very enjoyable.
