Great start to a great series!

This was a great start to a series with a lighthearted feel that matures into a more serious story the further it goes. I caught this first volume on Audible and after realizing books 3-6 are out there immediately picked up and read the rest. I’m pretty sure I’ll be re-listening to this one a couple times.

Things worth mentioning about the book/series: OP MC that isn’t whiny. Decent magic system but not overly complex. Good character development for the MC but others don’t feel like they evolve a whole lot. So-so on the world building but it gets woven in over the next couple books. Story revolves mainly around the MC with very small detours here and there but without making it feel overburdened with too many story lines.

As far as narration goes I only have a few series done by Travis Baldree but he is really starting to grow on me. He certainly did a great job with this one!
