Interesting book. Very much a departure from the usual apocalyptic fiction. The book is not event driven, but personality. The format is it follows characters based on chapters and displays their characters perceptions. This adds a great deal of depth.
The story line is one of that of an adaption starting with a main character with a plan. Get out of town alone and don’t get involved with others. By the end of the book everything has changed. The characters care for each other , have fought personal and physical demons.
Much better than the usual Ex Green Beret, lots of guns and bombs, fights bad guys and meets a female that swoons over him
Kevin Pierce is simply the best narrator in my opinion and is his usual stellar self.
I look forward to other books by the author and its a brilliant start.
