I got this ARC via audiobook boom. I loved the way this story started. But the plot twist and the way the two main characters joined forces really made the story come alive. the narrator did a good job of moving the story forward. You could hear the emotions as he told the story. After being expelled from his last pact, the hero thought he had finally found a home then just when he was settling in he is sent on assignment alone. You can imagine how he felt. Being kicked out again. But that was not the case. You will have to listen to the story to get the full extent. Can you imagine waking up in a drug induced state and being on a cold cement floor? well imagine no more listen to the story and find out what happens. You won’t regret it.
