If you liked the previous book, you should like this one too. We get more of the same and more. Much of the story and setting gets changed in this book, as Hector is in a new location. It kind of feels like much of the previous story gets put on pause while Hector settles into the new area. The new part of the story picks up pretty quickly though, so it’s not missed for long. The dragon is a super cute character. The other main female character (Surrey?) has some good addition and story baggage to explore throughout the book. I enjoyed Hector having some allies and party members he can rely on. The male narrator is good again and the music and audio additions are even better in this book. I quite like it, it adds some good immersion and battle hype. The female narrator got a few roles this time that gave her different voices to play with, so not all of them are the same, though some are. One maybe downside, is that there is a short graphic sex scene near the end of the book. Could be a turn off for some people. It doesn’t really bother me. Just as long as the series doesn’t turn harem. All in all, I enjoyed the book and will continue with the next one.
