I loved this book, it was so well written. You love to hate the hero and the heroine, but in the end love is love and this story is a romance – and the lead character’s favourite hobby is torture.
It’s hard to admire a woman who is intentionally cruel and ruthless, whereas I found it fairly easy to like Liam – he fits what were taught about men and violence. I love that the author didn’t shy away from confronting the reader with the reality of violence and the way people learn to enjoy it given the right circumstances.
In some ways this book is a typically normal romance and love story which has been layered with the challenges of the work that they do, their own ambitions and the ‘baggage’ that each of the main characters bring along with them to the relationship.
