This is definitely not a Firefly derivative, but it’s own take on “outlaw misfits in space.”
The author has fleshed out his characters very well, each with their own quirks, strengths, weaknesses, and character flaws.
The stories are heavily character-driven and pacing is right on, with serious bits interspersed with comedy or other lighthearted material.
If you enjoyed Firefly or the anime Outlaw Star, this is also right up your alley.
