I don’t mind a cheesy love story. I don’t mind insta-love. But combined with poor writing it doesn’t do it for me at all. The story manages to be both predictable and unbelievable. The world if weres seems to by a fantastically idealic combination of progressive values (ecologically responsible, socialist yet economically thriving, and gay loving ) while also incredibly mysogynistic. And a word on that ilidyllic socialist society, at one point Arman observes that every member of a pack has the ability be affluent if they work hard but lazy people won’t make a lot of money. He says this while admitting that his fortune was handed to him by his family on no merits of his own.

There were mixed messages and the end result is a world that I do not like and main characters I don’t admire.

There was a goal here, but I think the author just missed it.

Joel Leslie is amazing, as per usual. But I actually wish Armond didn’t have a French accent. I don’t know why he did. His ancestors are French but haven’t they lived in the US for at least a generation?
