Let me preface by saying Robinson is one of my absolute modern favorites, he’s been heavy on my reading/listening list for the last couple years. I am always amazed at how quickly he is able to produce a wonderfully inventive story. That being said, this one felt rushed. It really comes across like it was written as a gimmick. The structure and vision I expect from him was there, but the details were much weaker than usual. The cultural references were eye rolling, and the dick jokes got old fast. Overall I enjoyed this, but felt like it needed more time and a few more rounds.
