Procyon was a book that pleasantly surprised me. From the first paragraph Mark Healy lassoed me in and hog-tied my attention to his boot heel, which he then had firmly planted in my neck until the very end. The style of the main character’s internal dialog was fantastic. For some reason I really glommed onto Landry’s tragic history – I could relate and could feel his pain. I can’t wait until the next book.
This was also a prime example of a great book made fantastic by its narrator. Travis Baldree was a name I was familiar with from various Youtube videos on narrating, so I was eager to listen to his voice for the first time at what he does best. And I wasn’t disappointed! He captured perfectly the raw emotion that Landry was feeling over a multitude of events and his past. Female dialog was great – I had no complaints Consider that he only has a handful of books under his belt at the time of this review, I predict he will go far as a narrator.
This audio book was gifted to me by the narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.
