The MC is extremely likable and is made more likable by Jeff Hays.
However, there is very little plot. There are intrigues but at this point I seriously doubt they turn into much.
The ending seemed extremely rushed. And I was very disappointed that there turned out to be some kind of mana system, that the previously uneducated 15-year-old boy somehow manages to scrape together for a dues ex machina skill to use. The ending was terrible. The kid probably doesn’t even know what ‘concentric circles’ are but the author slips and gives the character intelligence he wouldn’t have any other way.
I might continue the series. But we need more plot. And less fighting.
