Title says it all: the characters are pretty enjoyable, and the performance, while with more special effects than I like, was excellent. The story itself, though, is ok. Not great, but not bad.

I think it was the tone of the story that I had an issue with: the story was effectively a harem super hero action story, where the central male character is made powerful by the strength of the (sexy) women around him. There’s no erotica, no actual description of sex, but the constant undertone is definitely there. If you like that kind of story, you’ll like that. If not, it’s a turn off.

Also, if you like role-playing games you’ll like the way this was put together. In fact, if feels a bit like reading through a very descriptive retelling of a game.

I liked this enough to continue the series. It really enough to recommend it, but I didn’t like it enough to dissuade someone from it.
