I bought and read the books in “wrong” order and started with Underpowered Howard and didn’t realize those are connected at first. To my surprise and huge delight, these are really good. A very good story, none or atleast not noticable, useless fillers, great humor, great performance by Travis, a nice touch of romance and a lot of epic fighting and really really good RPG-theme.

The deal of three books in one credit is perfect, the stand alone books are a little too pricey for my taste so this concept works really good and the cliffhangers in the end of the first books isn’t the slightest annoying because of this.

So not only do I recommend this book but also the sequel (it can easily be read as a stand alone) about Underpowered Howard. As a series it has a great conclusion, really satisfying end which makes one feel really good after reading it… that is sadly a bit rare but John does it correct and soooo good.
