- What made the experience of listening to The Last Warrior of Unigaea the most enjoyable?
- Jeff Hays narration and intensity with his reading was great. The moment that Annie Ellicott stepped in was a bit jarring, BUT that’s only because it happened so late in the narration. I would strongly love to hear MORE from her and this ensemble style in the future.
- Who was your favorite character and why?
- Wolf was quite probably my favorite character. Being a nonverbal character, I got to hear the descriptions of his actions more clearly in my mind. He brings a slight comedic tone to certain points in the book.
- What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
- Alternating voice for the characters. While I would have supplemented with my own voice, I think the narrators are able to more precisely hit those tones due to direction from the author.
- Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
- There is a point toward the middle of the book when Orick’s viewpoint of his quest strengthens and his justification for vengeance changes that was particularly gripping. I think Jeff did a great job of capturing that with his voice.
- Any additional comments?
- This was a great listen. I normally don’t care for present tense, but this may have won me over.
