Would you try another book from Neven Iliev and/or Jeff Hays?
Jeff hays really tried to a good with the bad story
What could Neven Iliev have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
The book’s biggest issue is that it feels like it was written by 10-13 year boy that is obsessed with Skyrim or DND. The book wastes too much time repeatedly talking in mmo jargon and describing the level up process repeatedly. The book is very childish and feels like INCEL fantasy.
You didn’t love this book… but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Great if you are a neckbeard or Incel, Horrible if you have a brain and actually like a good fantasy story.
