This was a really well written story and it was an interesting twist that the background conflict wasn’t coming from rival MC members this time but from a regular, though crazy, citizen. The whole fake boyfriend/fake wedding date is a a trope I enjoy and though this one only skirted it, I still found it a nice added bonus. I really enjoyed the chemistry and development between Beau and Tru, and they rivaled Blade and Logan, and Gunner and Raven for top couple in the series for most of the book. I will say it was predictable in a way, I knew early on right after the wedding what Beau would think eventually but I didn’t expect the way he would confront that issue, and honestly it made me mad at him and so hurt for Tru. I honestly got a little watery eyed for him. of course by that time we all know who the culprit is and I do love that he is caught and put behind bars but I was also disappointed with how easily Tru forgave Beau. I don’t think he did half enough to earn his trust back, and I was also disappointed we didn’t get Beau firmly standing up to his mother for himself, his sexuality and Tru at the end. IMO that was a much needed scene giving her constant machinations in his life and it’s one we were left without. That takes this story out of the running for being a 5. Still it was a great addition to the series and the narrator is much better in this book and the previous one than he was for the Tex book. Still wish they’d gone back to the narrator for Gunnar and Maverick’s books but still I enjoyed the story a lot.
