If you could sum up Obligations Incurred in three words, what would they be?
This entry in the Delvers world brings many more plot twists to Jason and Henry’s adventure. I struggle to call this a complete story though, I want to label this this Devler’s LLC 1.5 if you compare to it to the first book. The team sets off for another country and don’t make it there before the final battle/event of this book. I say you’ll end this book with more questions then answers. A lot more.
Who was your favorite character and why?
By the end of the book, Jason turns into a complete bad@ss, though flawed. He unlocks the ability to be a horrific engine of destruction able to take on Ludus’ most powerful denizens but the costs could be insurmountable if he’s pushed too far.
What does Jeff Hays bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Jeff Hays nailed it, he’s brilliant. easily one my favorite narrators. There are a lot of important characters in this book, the main group is diverse enough that any group discussion could easily become a confusing mess if a less gifted narrator tried it but not Jeff Hayes, he could have 20 characters talking all at once and you won’t miss a thing or confuse two characters remarks. The addition of “Thirsty” into the story and Jeff’s mastery of him err her shows you how good he is.
Any additional comments?
I struggled with rating this book. I want to give it 5 stars, i really do. Great story, great narrator. Just by the end of the book, i wanted more. It wasn’t the excited “can’t wait for book 3” kind of wanting more, it was sort of a frustrating ‘there should have been more’ type of wanting more. The first book was 13 hrs with 2 major events. Second book was 9 hours with one major event and tons more plot twists and mysterious . I wish i didn’t discover this series until after a few more books were published, now i have to wait a few more months to get get my fix, and it leaves me feeling a bit salty.

I definitely look forward to book 3 and Blaise Corvin is now one of my favorite authors.
