One thing that Franklin Horton does so well in his all of his series is spending a book, or a large majority on it, focusing on one character’s story. And it’s not necessarily the main character, but in this case it’s one of the main characters. In “Compound Fracture” Grace’s father Robert and Tom’s mother Sonya are the focus of the book. They’re at a compound and are trying to help make sure it’s saved. A once powerful Senator has his eye on it for himself and his. No spoilers. But as with every other book in the series, it’s a dog fight to the finish.

Kevin Pierce provides perfect narration every time out. And his pacing gives the urgency necessary. Great third book.
