I can honestly say that Tom Abrahams has written the best series in PA fiction with the Traveler series. Of course, this was my introduction to his work, so no doubt his other series work is just as spectacular. Now that is weighed against some amazing other writers. But Abrahams is given such high marks for his incredible character development, shocking twists, and clean writing. There is NO swearing in this book. That is unheard of in PA fiction, save for avowed Christian writer Mark Goodwin. The character of Marcus Battle should be a lead character in a movie of TV series. He’s got it all.
The book opens with a shock, coming off of the end of book 3. It’s a twist the reader doesn’t see coming. But it is a turning point for this boxed set, and no doubt into books 7-8. The scourge changed Marcus Battle’s world, and everyone else’s. But he’s set up for more losses at the start of book 4. And it just progresses beautifully from there. The reader stays captivated. And you can’t say enough good about Kevin Pierce as the narrator. He is PA fiction. And together with Tom Abrahams, it’s pure magic, the finest of wines. WOW. This makes listening a delight!
