The book starts a little rough, with some preachy and frankly incongruous environmentalist droning. The author gets over that pretty quickly, though, and once you get into the actual story, it’s engaging and well-written, and there were just enough specs to give it the MMO feel without slowing down the narrative. I would definitely recommend the book.

Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the audio book. The narrator has a good voice, but he speaks too slowly, and the whole production is overdone. They went for a radio theatre feel, but they made the mistake of underscoring every little action sequence with battle drums and sound effects, and it was just too much.
