I do like this book. I like the Narrator. the only issue is the background of the MC does NOT fit with the story as a whole. I get that he needed to be an outcast but the extreme the author went to doesn’t fit his personality or how he acts around others immediately after leaving his town. you don’t spend you life alone and being abused and still have any kind of manners or trusting personality towards strangers.
basically, if you ignore the 1st couple of pages before he receives his mark, you’ll be good. then you’ll just have to look past the few times where he acts like a hurt puppy for little reason.
Its really minor compared to everything else. I honestly wish that the series continued.
