I live in CO and worked in LE and never heard this story. That man was most assuredly a serial killer with a severe hatred of women. The story illuminates some persisting issues in the criminal justice system specific to the re-victimization of women in trial for sexual assault. The narrator was captivating and easy to listen to: My only criticism might seem trivial but it stood out to me as a psychological professional. The epilogue discusses the dangerousness of personality disorders as a general, all encompassing thing. Though the specific disorders associated with murderous tendencies are discussed, it is still implied that all personality disorders are incredibly dangerous which is irresponsible. It’s probably an oversight but it’s a big one with consequences for those with the mild or non-violent associated personality disorders.
