I enjoyed listening to Andrew and Spencer become closer. The story held my interest because of the tension created while Spencer and Andrew get to know one another, and while Spencer tries to complete his latest job. I didn’t find the story quite as engaging as some of NR Walker’s other books. I the focus of the story didn’t appeal to me because I had trouble buying into Spencer’s chosen profession.

The misuse of the word never made me cringe a bit. Every time an author writes “never looked away” or a similar phrase, I see the image of a rotting corpse staring into oblivion for all eternity. The misuse of absolute words aggravates me. “Never” means “at no point in the past or future”.

Anyway… The narration was good. Joel Leslie offers a smooth performance, His voice isn’t one of my favorite choices for certain characters, but it worked well for Andrew and Spencer.

If you are looking for a romance with moderate angst, interesting characters, and nicely performed narration, this is a good choice.
