This story is classic Alice Winters storytelling. Snarky characters pretending like they dislike each other so they don’t have to admit to deeper feelings. Eventually they find themselves in a serious situation that forces them both to admit things to themselves…. Also they are trying to stop bad guys from doing bad things.

This book was a little bit trippy because it explores the idea of having mental gifts. I started having flashbacks to X-men comics, but I think this story was a bit more entertaining.

Joel Leslie’s narration was nicely done. I appreciate how well manages female voices and keeps each character voice distinct.

Can’t wait for the next book. Fortunately, I don’t need to…
