Overall I like the story and I wasn’t bored for 50+ hours. The narrator pronounced some of the military gear wrong but that isn’t a big deal. The thing I dislike the most is how stupid the main character is. You don’t have to have the slightest sense of survival to see 80+% of the decisions Zed makes are stupid. My dad and I listened to this box set together and we sometimes had to stop the book so we could yell at each other about how stupid, ignorant, and idiotic he was. There was a little outlandish stuff that a normal American like him obviously would not be able to survive but, it’s a book and I can easily get passed that. Murphy is great comic relief and his relationship with Zed is hilarious. One more thing I liked is how this story is about a normal person that has to nut up or shut up about a zombie apocalypse instead of other zombie series that the main characters are superheroes and can do anything and are prepared for everything.Again this was a good zombie series overall but in my opinion someone like Zed especially with the decisions he makes would end up dead within a few weeks of a real zombie outbreak similar to what this book describes.
